The importance of a connector depends on its size, and the smaller it becomes, the greater its importance.

        The reason is simple: many products are shrinking. Nowadays, countless electronic devices, such as smart phones, tablets and blood glucose detectors, have more and more strict requirements on size, and the internal structure arrangement is more and more dense, so there is not much space for connectors. This trend also appears in the field of national defense and aerospace. For example, in satellites, guided missiles and avionics systems, only micro connectors can meet the requirements of compactness.


       With the increasing demand for small connectors, design engineers are facing a series of new challenges. In the project, they can no longer put the connector design in the final stage. Miniature connectors require more careful design. This requires designers to consider various factors in advance in terms of packaging, durability, current load capacity and replaceability.


       The designer shall consider easy replacement, especially in a closed enclosure.
